A bit of history

Our farm

The Dunnet family have run Tanjanerup farm for over 116 years, through 5 generations. Grass fed Beef is our specialty, you may see us driving through your paddock feeding the cows on the tractor or herding them into a new paddock. Who was Cleve?

Cleve first came to Tanjanerup farm to work after losing his wife and child in childbirth when he was 17. After his loss the family took him in like their own. He lived in a little hut on the property for the next 70 years. Never learning how to drive a car, Cleve saddled up his horse for the day as he did every day until his last. His horse Marcie was his best friend.

When my partner and I decided to return to our family farm we wanted to share this slice of paradise with others, creating something extra special by crafting and handmaking bespoke pieces in the hut.

Our Vision

We gathered recycled materials that we had found on the farm, timber from the fallen shearing shed, old cattle yard boards that were hand sawn 100 years ago or the rusted corrugated iron that had flown off the shed in a storm.

Every item is a piece of history on the farm.

A sustainable approach

Why buy new when you can recycle and appreciate the age and history of these raw materials. Wanting Cleves hut to look and feel like it was placed there 100 years ago with a few extra comfort additions to treat yourself to the sweet simplicity of country living.
